What an amazing year it has been for our graduates. The Covid restrictions were lifted and they could make the most of it. Their achievements this year have been academic, sporting and philanthropic. They have grown into special young adults with aspirations far beyond those discussed at the beginning of the year: it’s been a year to be proud of for many of our graduates.

The students stood up to speak to their peers and parents, giving emotional speeches about their high school life.

My final message to the graduates is：

So this is the highest point of your education so far. For me, this is the highest honour I’ve ever received. You call me various things, but today is the last time you’ll call me your Homeroom teacher. I came to KI a few years ago and have taken on so many positions; PE teacher, English teacher and, of course, science teacher. I’ve enjoyed these jobs, but this year has been different. For years Mr Takimoto and Ms Kotani have argued for me to be a HR teacher and Ms Koga offered support, but last year was the first time I didn’t fight back. I was an idiot for resisting for so long. This year has been fulfilling, heart-warming and, at times, heart-breaking. I’ve been closer to you all than I’ve ever been to students before. You’ve shared with me, but far more importantly, you’ve trusted me. That trust sits in my heart and will remain there for a life time.
