Well, this week is mid-term exam time. I have many exams, actually, but many I’ve graded have been good. I feel the oral interview tests were better this year than before, and I don’t know why…
I mostly care about my 2 science courses. To be honest, I’m a bit strict, and I believe my classes are the most challenging, so in my science classes I ask questions every day. For correct answers, the students get points. At the end of each term, the student with the most points gets 5 points added to their mid-term/final test, which counts for 50% of their grade. The 2nd best student gets 4 points… every gets 1 point.
Anyway, this time one student in Ecology got over 100 points on the mid-term exam. It was not an easy test – the average was around 70. But I was very impressed with a few of the students. They studied hard and learned what was important. I hope this behavior continues next week…
